When looking for hardwood floors, your first decision is choosing which type of wood flooring: solid or engineered?
We engineer our homes to ensure safety and stability. Why wouldn’t you want a flooring product that has been engineered to maximize its stability? The days of warped and cupped floors can be a thing of the past. The look of a solid floor can be achieved with the use of engineered products without the negative side effects of cupping and warping. The best of both worlds!
Wood flooring is a natural product. It will move with varying moisture and humidity levels. This movement is the cause of cupping and warping. We see this especially with solid flooring because it does not have anything to stabilize the movement of the plank as an engineered floor has. An engineered floor will have multiple layers counteracting the movement of each alternating layer. This trait in itself makes quality engineered flooring superior to solid.
