"We spent 4 years constructing our new 5,000 sq.ft home. We spared NO expense. In order to achieve the rugged, worn look we desired, we found and tore down a 105 year old fish cannery in Alaska and had the wood from the cannery and its pier shipped to Mammoth Lakes, Cal. The extra wide distressed plank wood floors came from Europe. Nor-Cal Floor Design (Matt) was both patient and creative in dealing with myself, the contractor, the architect and most of all Jim Sams, the designer. Color after color, tint after tint, finish after finish, the process was completed to exacting specifications that we all felt complimented the design and feel of the home. Matt never wavered in his desire to please us and help accomplish our dream. His knowledge about woods, finish, color and installation always made us feel confident that we were in “good” hands. As it turned out, we were in great hands! He completed the installation in a very timely manner and even a little ahead of schedule. The finish he used has held up well in spite of 3 dogs, two teenagers and many guests coming in and out with their shoes on both summer and winter.
